How to resolve problems in PVC soft door curtain production equipment?


PVC soft door curtain equipment, the surface is not smooth, and has pitting/particles during production.


Symptoms: The curtain surface is rough, with small bumps or white particles distributed throughout. In severe cases, it feels rough.


Core causes:

Raw material problems: PVC resin powder agglomerates due to moisture (moisture content > 0.3%), uneven dispersion of additives such as plasticizers and stabilizers, or impurities (such as dust or plastic debris) mixed into the raw materials.


PVC soft door curtain production equipmen problems: Extruder barrel/screw wear (excessive clearance leading to uneven plasticization of the raw materials), burnt material or foreign matter in the mold runner (failure to clean regularly).


Temperature problems: The temperature in the front section of the extruder is too low (the raw materials are not fully melted), or the temperature in the back section is too high (local overheating and carbonization). Solution:

Raw material pretreatment: Pre-dry the PVC resin (dry at 80-90°C for 2-3 hours). Thoroughly mix the additives in a high-speed mixer (1000-1500 rpm for 10-15 minutes).

Equipment maintenance: Disassemble the mold and clean the runners (use a copper brush and a special cleaner to avoid scratching the runners). Check for screw wear (if the clearance exceeds 0.5mm, replace the screw).

Temperature adjustment: Increase the front-end temperature by 5-10°C (e.g., for PVC soft materials, the front-end temperature should be 140-150°C, the middle section should be 160-170°C, and the die head should be 170-180°C).
